Just curious had a smart meter put on the house. My bills have been great. Havent done anything different from previous years but I am not paying a 350.00 to 400.00 dollar bill every month.

I am just wondering where all that money went I was paying you guys every month go. One month a read bill the next month an estimated bill which was always higher than the read one. Kinda makes me feel like I am owed money.

NYSEG - Sudden exponential bill, poor customer service
My average monthly usage is around 500 kwh. Suddently, it jumped to 6,000 kwh in 30 days. Not sure how that is humanly possible. Nothing changed. So current bill is over $1,000. Customer service is incredibly awful. Its a constant fight to ask for regular billing. So Im now having an electrician come try to figure out what is happening.

Incompetency in billing

Weve used Nyseg my entire life growing up here in Central New York since they have a monopoly on everything electric related in our area. We ended up opening up a new account for service in January of 2023 we did not get a bill for a month or two and we kept calling asking if we owed anything because obviously we are using electricity.

We repeatedly were told there is nothing on your account. There is nothing in the system. This continued all summer until we finally got a $1100 bill in October we have never used that much electricity in this home in 10 years. I assumed Id be able to get the bill reduced a little bit as it is on their side and we cannot just spit out $1100 had they bill me every month I wouldve paid it and been able to keep up with whatever usage they say we were using and now its almost impossible to actually see what we used because when the bills came through they are all dated the same in October.

We set up a payment arrangement to try and catch up , and then our next bill was more than double what it seemed like it should be. Now our latest bill they are claiming we dont owe anything again and I am trying to get that straightened out.

Poor billing and customer service

My wife has tried to add me to the account twice since it was set up. Still not showing on the account. Calling customer service gets an automated system giving basic account information only. We did not receive a bill for February and cannot get an answer as to why. Based on reviews, it appears that it is typical for people not to get bills for months and then get a shut off notice and or an enormous bill. I went to the customer service office, and they won't discuss the account with me as i am not on it. I just want to get and pay my GD gas/electric bill for February.

Service rep hung up on me

The dial options for picking which line to call are broken, got transferred to a rep who got annoyed with me and chided me for not using them, before I could tell her what happened she cut me off and transferred me. The second rep didn't understand what I was trying to tell him no matter how simply I phrased it, when it came time for me to give him the information he asked, he hung up the phone on me. Normally I have no problem with an issue here and there but this was by far the most annoying and rudest encounter I've had yet.

Won't take my money???

I was told in the past by Nyseg cust service that if I want to pay toward a budget billing overage before the end of the yearly cycle to keep it from being too high at the end, I could, I just have to talk to someone on the phone so they apply it to the right place. I wanted to do that today (the overage is low enough at this point I could just pay it all right now), so I got on the phone; also my bill said if I don't pay the budget balance (not my reg bill) soon budget billing would end.

First rep said they understood what I wanted to do, just wasn't sure how to execute and would transfer me to payments/collections. That person said there's nothing showing that I have that but I can't pay toward budget billing overages ahead of time bc there's no way to do that and "just raise your budget billing amount so at the end it's not a lot." What the *** I've done it before!

You don't want my money?! Every person I talk to seems to contradict everyone else.

NYSEG BILLSare way way way roo high. They. Make any firm of payment impossible to keep an apt. For example: if you're rent is let's say 650.00. After NYSEG bill comes in your paying 1080.00 or so. To , anyLive in the apt. You have phone, dentures to for ; loner, for the dentures, medications, food, and money to pay back anyone you barowed from to survive the month. On your rating chart you don't if the 1means the highest rating or lowest this gives NYSEG opponents to say it could be either.they won't give

User's recommendation: They won't give me budget billing because I had an earlier disagreement on a bill and they tacked that payment on to another mo. I'm not supposed to get budget billing again. My bill was 397. 00 last mo. Make sure this plan they have to (help you out ((not) doesn't befall you.. there reaiting chart screwed up doesn't say 1 means highest or lowest rating. So it could be either..

Weve been waiting for them for probably two years to come remove the pole and finish filling the hole and removing excess dirt . I will be happy if someone actually comes out and does this. The pole was pulled out by my husband but it needs to be filled in and cleaned up around the pole.

I'm a disabled senior ,on the heap program. On my last statement (there estimate) billing was over billed by 50-60 dollars. I gave there rep my meter read for the exact usage. This was over a week ago ,I check my balance on there app. They still have not credited my account. They know how to take the funds out quick but there in no hurry to credit my account .Poor business .Poor customer service.

Been charged for non residential for 16 yrs by Nyseg

Tried calling 4 times they kept saying call back in 2 weeks being charged commercial rate on 2 home called dps made complaint nyseg said we cant have to accounts that are residential so that means if you own 2 homes u pay residential on one commercial on other im fighting this all the way they think there untouchable we will see
